OLD MUSIC DAYS

The jubilee 20th edition of this festival focuses on the music of the Baroque period and has a program composed of works of composers of the mid 17th to mid 18th century. Great works of the greatest composers of that period will be played by reputable local and foreign bands and soloists. If you are a fan of classical music, check the whole program and tickets here.
SPIN TO WIN
Olympic Casino Eurovea invites you to an evening full of entertainment on this FREE entrance event. You will receive a promo card after your registration (which is free of charge). MEDIEVAL KNIGHTS SHOW AT THE DEVIN CASTLE
There will be an all day event held at the Devin castle that will take you back to the Middle Ages – the times of knights, ladies and troubadours. A great show for (not only) kids will include children’s medieval games, swordplay performances, historical dance or dueling knights on horseback! The opening ceremony will kick off at 11am. BRATISLAVA DESIGN WEEK
8.6. – 14.6.
This event is Slovakia’s most intense international design event covering contemporary design. The organizers will present the best from our home scene: producers, vendors, designers, independent brands, design students, experimental design, fashion, chosen products and designers from abroad. Wilsonic is an urban music festival which presents the current music trends and brings together the world of concerts with the atmosphere of clubs and dance parties. Musicians from different countries will perform in Bratislava’s Atelier Babylon, and Wilsonic will also be the official afterparty place of the Bratislava Design Week. WEEK OF HUNGARIAN CULTURE IN BRATISLAVA
8.6. – 14.6.
„More than a neighbor“ is the title of this festival that is being organized in our capital for the second time already. It will bring a week full of cultural events and Hungarian culinary experiences to Bratislava. Hviezdoslav’s square will be the main point of the fest, with a big stage, but various activities will be spread to different places across the city. The whole program can be found here.
LIVE JAZZ IN THE DOWNTOWN
A legendary Slovak jazz man, trumpeter, idiosyncratic writer and artist Laco Deczi, who has been living in the U.S. for the past 27 years, will perform near the St. Martin’s Cathedral, in the San Marten. Stop by to listen to some quality music when you happen to be in the Old Town on the 9th – the concert starts at 8pm.
ITALIAN FILM. A TOUR OF CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN CINEMA

THE DAY OF CROOKED MIRRORS
The day of crooked mirrors is a nationwide event which is held annually on June 12th. It aims to set a positive example to influence public attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities. Come and support it at the Hviezdoslav’s square where a rich program will be prepared starting at 2pm. Enjoy a drum show, a march through the Old Town or various music and dancing performances.
KDE BOLO, TAM BOLO
12.6. – 14.6.
A fairy-tale interactive & creative festival (not only) for children will fill the streets of our capital with hundreds of children and parents who won’t want to miss the big number of interactive workshops and accompanying activities prepared for this year. Magic creative atmosphere, meaningful workshops, children’s laughter and joy become the central theme of this festival. Children dress up in colorful costumes, paint, cook good meals, compose music, plays or read books – and everything happens at the Main square (Hlavné námestie). INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN’S FOLKLORE GROUPS
12.6. – 14.6.
Groups from Slovakia, Bulgaria, Macedonia will be performing in the streets of our city center in mid June. You can look forward to the following activities:
12.6. (14:30) a costume parade from the Mierovo square to the Main square, and at 15:40 a concert at the Main square
13.6. (15:00) a concert of these groups at the Main square, at 19:00 a modern Latin American dance show at the Main square
14.6. (16:00) a special gala program organized in Malinovo, a neighborhood of Bratislava
12.6. – 19.6.
A project of The Slovak National Theater which is presented as a drama theater festival this year. Its ambition is to present top European productions and productions of the Slovak National Theater itself. During eight festival days, European theaters from Belgium, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Austria, Ukraine and Slovakia will offer 13 exceptional productions. All performances will be presented with Slovak and English subtitles. A unique festival experience awaits you also thanks to interesting discussions with filmmakers and actors, which will take place at the end of each performance right on the stage. DEVIN BELONGS TO KIDS
The Devin castle will be full of children on the 13th June from 10am till 6pm, with many games, competitions, knight and fairy-tale performances. Are you a parent? If so, make sure you mark this date in your calendar – your child will be very thankful! :)

Each year the doors of the Grassalkovich Palace get open for public and you can for free visit Slovakia’s White House and meet face to face with the president himself.
PUPPET THEATER IN THE MEDICAL GARDEN

Each second Tuesday of the month, there is a puppet theater in the Medical garden which not only children can enjoy. The start is always at 4pm :)
OPEN AIR CINEMA AT THE DANUBE
17.6. + 24.6.
Enjoy an evening with friends, a good movie and a great Italian drink – Aperol Spritz, at one of the most popular spots of Bratislava, Eurovea. The bars, deck chairs and screen will always be prepared from 5 pm and the anticipated start of the projection is 7:30 pm. Come earlier to make sure you get a good spot and enjoy some fresh air with friends in the middle of the week! DESIGN MARKET IN THE OLD TOWN

Our Hviezdoslav’s square will host a design market in the mid June and you will be able to admire, try and buy beautiful hand-made items from more than 30 different stalls during two days! ARABIC DINNER AND BELLY DANCING WITH INTERNATIONS
Do you know the one thousand and one nights stories, also known as the Arabian Nights? The tales themselves trace their roots back to ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian folklore and literature. And this is the theme that was used to design the 1001 Restaurant in Bratislava where InterNations, a community gathering expats living in Bratislava as well as locals, is organizing one of its events – „dinnernations“ – an exotic evening with an informal dinner and drinks, specially designed menu and some great entertainment in the form of belly dancing! INTERNATIONALS TRAFFIC LIGHTS PARTY
This party is for anyone who wants to socialize and have some fun – singles & couples are welcome, too. Upon your arrival, you will need to choose a color of your bracelet: green (single – ‘ready to mingle’), orange (‘undecided’ or ‘its a mystery’), or red (‘taken’). BRATISLAVA TANGO PARTY

Join the tango marathon in the capital of party Partyslava! More than 150 tango dancers will be in the town in mid June, dancing tango! There will be also a tango orchestra with live music from Buenos Aires. Some of the events will be open to public, some are only to dancers :) More details are coming soon, stay tuned here.
BRATISLAVA GOURMET FEST
19.6. – 21.6.
The annual gourmet fest will be held in Petrzalka, Bratislava’s neighborhood, with 26 restaurants and 68 chefs from 9 countries. That’s something! Cooking shows will be run during the day, following with a party in the evenings. 2 picnic zones, 2 music stages, special zones for children, lots of restaurant seating, a new bar with a DJ, a one day conference called „Gastronomy Slovakia“ and a lot more – check their webpage for more details.
FESTIVAL OF CROATIAN CULTURE
19.6. – 21.6.
The largest parade of Croatian songs and dances, tasting of traditional Croatian meals and drinks will be organized in Devinska Nova Ves, a neighborhood of Bratislava, in mid June. Croatian culinary, children folklore performances, a photo exhibition and party in a Croatian style! More info here.
NIGHT OF MUSIC
There will be a concert at the Main square on the occasion of the Day of music, starting at 8pm.
24.6. – 28.6.
The historical center of Bratislava will host an Italian market – Mercato italiano – at the end of June. Come to taste typical dishes and products characteristic for Italy, spread on the area of 400 m2, at the Hviezdoslav’s square. Honey, sausages, vegetables and fruits, cheeses, olive oil, wine, herbs and other Italian products will be presented to public during this festival.
24.6. – 29.6.
This world-renowned guitar festival with a 40-year tradition will offer concerts, master classes and seminars to its visitors. All the activities are concentrated in representative premises of Bratislava’s historic city center. The tickets will cost you 8 €/6 € (24. – 27.6.) and 12 €/10 € (28.6.). The streets of Bratislava Old Town will celebrate the Italian wine on the last Thursday of June. If you are in the downtown during that day, you will have a chance to taste Italian wines at various cafes and restaurants for a special discounted price. This event aims to highlight the quality and diversity of Italian wines offered in the pleasant environment of our capital city. VIVA MUSICA! 2015
26.6. – 29.8.
This 11th annual music festival will fill the evenings of summer months with music and elite artists of national and world levels. It will offer 10 concerts in the Old Market Hall (Stara Trznica), on the Main square (Hlavne namestie) at the Bratislava castle as well as some new places like the St. Martin’s Cathedral or our historical national theater. Musical & dancing improvisations will be performed in the streets of our Old Town from 5pm. Watch out if you happen to walk on the following streets: Michalská, Kostolná, Zelená, Straková, Panská, Laurinská or around the Michael’s gate.

Already the third year of this hip-hop festival in Bratislava’s Zlate Piesky area will present the biggest hip hop stars of Slovakia and Czech republic. Something for those who like the local music. You can get a basic ticket (31,80 €) or a VIP ticket (75,50 €). Official webpage.
CORONATION CEREMONIES 2015
26.6. – 28.6.
This event shows authentic coronation ceremony of 18 kings and queens who were crowned in Bratislava. It is performed by about 150 actors in period costumes and accompanied by the Bratislava Historical Craft Fair, Historic Fair of the Free Royal Towns, oxen roasting, The Blue Frankish Wine Festival and the event of pouring 500 liters of wine to the fountains. MIDDLE AGES AT THE DANUBE RIVER
What were the Middle Ages like? Experience it near Danube, in the Garden of Janko Kral, with historical camps and crafts, field battle, various tournaments and lectures on history! More info here.
BRATISLAVA OPEN AIR FESTIVAL ZLATE PIESKY
This open air festival opens the summer dancing season in Slovakia each year and at this year’s event you will have a chance to dance to music of some famous musicians: Paul van Dyk, Ben Nicky, Simon Patterson – all three names promise an exclusive experience – and there will be more to come! The food market in the Old Market Hall (Stara Trznica) is held every Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Seasonal foods grown and produced by farmers and small producers from around Bratislava can be found here, as well as quality specialties from more distant countries. The market is regularly accompanied by various bazaars – antiques, books, clothes or vinyl – that are periodically rotated and can be found on the first floor. More info.
YOGA IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE
A regular yoga session in English language is held each Tuesday in Centrum Radosť – the first session from 19:45, the second one from 21:00. Something for those who aim to be stronger, more flexible, obtain balance and have some fun times. Voluntary contribution to the lecturer! More info here.
