Are you a newcomer in Slovakia? Are you here for less than 6 months? Then you must know how difficult and time consuming it is to find all the information on one place sometimes. That’s why Internationals Bratislava – a community established by expats – organize a “Welcome to Slovakia workshop” where they share their experience as foreigners having lived and experienced local culture, and will guide you through the night life, nature and activities where you can get to know local and international people.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
During this workshop you will find out where to find an English speaking doctor, a hairdresser, any foreigner-friendly bars in Bratislava, student communities, kindergartens, how to call and use a taxi in Bratislava, where to do sports, where to socialize, everything about public transport – trains, planes and bus timetables, and a guide how to read them. You will hear about the paperwork and be presented an overview of organizations for foreigners. You will discover Slovak traditions, customs, the business etiquette but also Slovak food and locations of international restaurants and shops in Bratislava. You´ll learn where to find accommodation here, how to search for international jobs and much more fresh information.
The workshop will be guided by Maria Hrvatic – an expat from Croatia and the founder of Internationals Bratislava organization. Living in Slovakia for 5 years, Maria is going to overwhelm you with plenty of useful, firsthand information.
WHO IS THE WORKSHOP FOR?
This workshop is aimed for people that have arrived to Slovakia in the last 6 months, but nobody will check your ID, so if you are here longer and haven’t settled down yet, feel free to join :) The participation is free of charge but every participant needs to make a reservation via firstname.lastname@example.org.
