GETTING TO BRATISLAVA

Bratislava is very easily accessible by bus from many countries. Prague, Vienna and also Budapest are very well connected with this city. The trip from Prague takes about 5 hours, from Vienna you can get here in something over 1 hour and it takes a bit less than 3 hours from Budapest. The city’s main bus terminal – “Autobusová stanica at Mlynské Nivy” – is located only 2 km from the Old Town.
HOW TO GET TO THE CENTER FROM THE MAIN BUS STATION
If you don’t want to spend a lot, use public transport to move around the city. Trolleybus number 206 leaves from outside the station and runs from around 5.00 in the morning until 8pm. You can also take the trolleybus number 208 from the spate stop, this one runs a little longer – from 5am until 11pm. You can buy a ticket either in the newsagents inside the main hall or outside in the ticket machine right at the bus stop.

There is one thing you need to know about our main train station before you go there: it is no London’s Victoria station :) Quite the opposite. It is an old area and this adjective mirrors its look as well. The good news is though – the city center is just 5 minutes away and it looks stunning! :) This is where you want to hurry! :)
HOW TO GET TO THE CENTER FROM THE MAIN TRAIN STATION
Again, choosing public transportation is the cheapest way to move around the city. Bus number 93 leaves from outside the station and runs from around 4.40 in the morning until 11.15 pm. You can buy a ticket either in the newsagents inside the main hall or outside in the ticket machine right at the bus stop.
There are several airlines flying directly to Bratislava. Many visitors of Slovakia use also the nearby Vienna International Airport at Schwechat in Austria, situated just about one hour drive from Bratislava. An alternative could also be Budapest Airport situated some 3 hour drive to Bratislava.
Bratislava airport is really a small one. Don’t expect to find here hundreds of shops and certainly buy some souvenirs while at the center, as you might have difficulties buying a desired present here. There are a few cafes though where you can refresh yourself. Save your energy for the city! :)
HOW TO GET TO THE CENTER FROM THE BRATISLAVA AIRPORT
Taking public transportation is the cheapest way to get to and from the airport. Bus number 61 leaves from outside the airport and runs from around 4.45 in the morning until 11.25 pm. You can buy a ticket in one of these points at the airport: newsagents on the ground floor of the Departures terminal, City Tourist Point stand at the Arrivals terminal, ticket machine at the public transport bus stop or ticket machine at the Arrivals terminal.
