ABOUT MLYNSKA DOLINA
Mlynska dolina is the biggest student agglomeration in Central Europe. There is no such a concentration of students in Prague or Vienna or another major city of Central Europe. And this creates the special atmosphere, a distinct liveliness of this area. It lives here at midnight every day of the week during the school year. The majority of the people living here are young students. However, summers are naturally calmer, as students have their holidays.
Mlynska dolina is located approximately 10 minutes from the centre and 15 minutes from the train station. Several public transportation buses operate here including 31 and 39 taking you directly to the city center (Zochova bus stop). Night connection is secured thanks to the night bus N31 which is very convenient.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
This is probably the cheapest accommodation in all Bratislava. No kidding! The price starts from 6 € per night per person. And in case you book your stay for more than 6 nights, the price per night gets lower. Students but also tourists can get a room here during the summer, starting from 1st July 2020 until 31st August 2020. Booking online is possible here.
Dormitory Šturák
This type of accommodation is ideal for:
- those who want to save on a room as much as possible,
- those who need a room just to sleep in and plan to spend maximum time exploring the city instead,
- those who are used to backpackers’s travel style,
- those who want to try how Slovak students live.
We do not recommend it for:
- families travelling with children or pets,
- those who prefer more comfortable type of accommodation.
We love this area especially for its greenery – it makes you feel calm and relaxed. As for the buildings and rooms themselves, count that they are really older, so be ready for that. The tremendously low price is what should be motivating here.

SERVICES IN MLYNSKA DOLINA
Mlyny complex of dormitories in Mlynska dolina is kind of a city on its own. It has all necessities for a survival, so technically you don’t need to get out of the area if you don’t want to. There are two cafeterias, a pizza place, several food stands, pubs or night clubs.
You can find a doctor, a dentist, a gynecologist or a pharmacy here. Tourists coming by car might welcome a guarded parking lot and those who enjoy sports, can pick one out of several gyms or sport facilities. A Carpathian biking trail goes through this place, too! During the summer, the opening hours of these facilities are somewhat shorter but still fully functional.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR ROOM
- Book your room through this online booking system.
- You will receive a confirmation email.
- After your arrival to Bratislava, visit the accommodation department in Mlyny dormitories in the main administration building where you get the room keys. Don’t worry about the language barrier – there is one person speaking English who usually deals with the Erasmus students.
Simple as that! We wish you a pleasant stay 🙂
